As we know, Dave and Barb spend much of their time traveling up and down the state of California, speaking to and encouraging the pastors and folks in our GARB churches; and also presenting the ministry of WBHM. At the numerous churches currently without pastors, Dave is often the guest speaker. In a recent article in the Messenger magazine, he reported they have visited in seventy-five of the more than one-hundred churches in our Fellowship since taking the position as State Representative!
Two weeks ago was an example of their busy schedule: Dave and Barb flew to San Diego on Wednesday; visited with Mike and Joan Wilcox on Thursday; visited with the pastor and his wife of the GARB church in El Centro; and then headed to Brawley for the weekend for Western Avenue Baptist Church’s dedication of their new church building and the church’s 65th anniversary. On Monday morning, they returned to Woodland and rested a little while before heading to Redding for Dave to teach his Monday evening class there!
The Wilcoxes thank us “for your prayers as we travel. We could not have done the schedule we had last week without them!” They went on to say: “We continue to pray for you there as you serve our precious Lord and send our love to each of you. We are so thankful to God for your love and support towards us.” They also indicated that they hope to see some folks from CLBC at the annual GARBC State Meeting in Visalia April 16-18.

Dave is the former pastor of CLBC (he and Barb ministered at CLBC for seventeen years). Now they are very busy in their new ministry. Dave is the California state representative for the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches (GARBC). He is also the director of Western Baptist Home Missions (WBHM) and is a professor teaching part-time as Shasta Bible College in Redding, Ca. Dave and Barb do much traveling, as they minister, speak, teach, present the ministry of Home Missions, and especially encourage pastors and congregations of our GARBC churches up and down the state of California.
